Anthro Fandom What is anthro fandom? Anthropomorphics go back at least as far as Aesops fables and even further in the legends of early humans. Basically, anthropomorphic fandom, or as its sometimes called, furry fandom, is a fandom that has in common a love of fiction, art and other media which celbrates the depiction of animals with human characteristics. Watership Down, Bambi, David Brin's Uplift series, C.S. Lewis' Narnia Series, and Aesop's Fables, are all examples of this kind of art or media. An active participant in this fandom since 1993, which did not become organized at all until the late 1980's, I was asked in 1998 to partiipate in the founding of a convention and an associated non profit entity to help develop the fandom and engage in charitable works for other non-profits of interest to the fandom.. Finally, as my own personal contribution to the fandom, I research and maintain the Anthro Fandom Attendance Infosheet. This document keeps up with the attendance at the now numerous anthro conventions around the world as well as demonstrate some historical trends regarding it: Anthro Fandom Convention Infosheet A few excellent resources where you can find out more about the fandom can be found in the links below:
